Hello!

I just wanted to pop in real quick this morning and let you know about a real-world impact this publication recently had. Namely, we ruined Pitbull’s Thursday.

Last month, I published a story about how the international superstar hadn’t fulfilled many of the contractual obligations from his stadium naming rights deal with Florida International. It went a little viral.

A few days later, FIU released a statement to let everyone know things were actually great.

That’s never a good sign. But on Thursday, Pitbull attended an event at the home of FIU’s athletic director. How do I know?

Because the school would not stop posting about it, sharing videos with “I’m not mad” captions like, “Heard people were wondering about @pitbull 👀.”

They even got Pitbull to tweet about it. He threw up the prayer hands. Respect and/or Daleee.

I don’t know how Pitbull typically spends his Thursdays. But I feel confident, after looking at photos of the event, that Mr. Worldwide would rather have been anywhere else in the world. It’s giving:

So it’s not a stretch to say that all of us here, this little FOIAball family, helped ruin Mr. 305’s Thursday.

Now, if you already surmised this email was secretly a sales pitch, you were right. But I’ll keep it tight.

Look, if you’ve been frustrated over the past decade about the lack of accountability for society’s most powerful people, well, this right here is some gosh darn results.

How many independent publications can say they made one of the world’s most famous men actually do his job?

FOIAball can.

That’s not all! We also got a suspect NIL venture shut down. And a major university stopped partnering with DHS. All thanks to my reporting. Not bad for a seven-month-old publication.

But I can’t do this without the support of my paid subscribers. So if actual consequences for our elites is something you desperately want to see in this world, upgrade to a paid subscription today.

I only need a few bucks a month from each of you. In return, I promise I will make an even more famous celebrity do something even stupider.

Name one other media outlet that offers that as a subscriber perk.
